Fairies receives the Best New Artist Award at this year’s Japan Record Awards

Back in November, tokyohive posted the list of winners for the ‘53rd Japan Record Award’. However, that list was incomplete, as the event withheld its winners for the ‘Best Song’ and the ‘Best New Artist’ awards.

On December 30th, it was revealed that the seven members of idol group Fairies was chosen as this year’s Best New Artist. Member Itou Momoka expressed her happiness with, “I feel honored to have received such an award at a historical ceremony. We will continue to do our best to not be a shame to receive this award.

Fairies made their debut this September with “More Kiss/ Song for You” with their average member age of 13 years old and grabbed attention of their viewers with their cool lyrics and dance.

SUPER☆GiRLS, 2NE1, and Ito Miyu were also nominated for this award.

Past award winners are Ayaka (2006), C-ute (2007), Jero (2008), BIGBANG (2009), and S/mileage(2010).

Congratulations, Fairies!
